Experience
University of Florida Mechanical Engineering Department
Teaching Assistant | EML3233L Design & Manufacturing Lab    Gainesville, FL                                                               August 2018 – Present
  • Facilitated learning of 4-person student groups as they designed and manufactured a robot that traverses an obstacle course to accomplish a certain task, such as collecting, sorting, and depositing tennis and golf balls.
  • Taught manual milling and lathe machine training, welding training, and shop safety training for student groups.
  •  Assisted with generation of conceptual drawings, decision matrices, prototype testing, project budgets, a manufacturing timeline, SolidWorks part and assembly drawings, and full design realization with an emphasis placed on designing for manufacturability.

3D Microfluid Bio-Printer Design Project
Senior Design | EML4501 Mechanical Design 2
Gainesville, Florida                                         August 2019 – December 2019
  • Developed a 3D microfluid bio-printer for high-precision placement of cancer cell medium to be printed on a microscope stage.
  • Implemented feedback from various design reviews, three design reports, a poster presentation, and meeting with the customer.
  • Printer capabilities include a linear accuracy of 10 µm, radial print extent of 48 mm, and a mounted weight of 175.6 g.
NextEra Energy
Power Distribution Engineering Intern
Fort Myers, Florida                                                  May 2018 – August 2018
  • Resolved work orders for leaning poles, transformer replacements and upgrades, and new service meter orders for homes, developments, and commercial buildings under construction.
  • Gained experience with the power grid and solar energy through transformer placement design work to be implemented in communities surrounding Lee County, including Babcock Ranch, the first solar-powered city in America.

Florida Tech Toybox
Design Realization Intern
Gainesville, Florida                                                January 2018 – May 2018
  • Developed proof-of-concept prototypes using 3D printing, milling machine and lathe operation, welding, and injection molding.
  • Collaborated with local innovators and start-ups to develop products applying principles of designing for manufacturability.

Advanced Laboratory for Radiation Dosimetry Studies

University Scholars Program Undergraduate Research Assistant

Gainesville, Florida                                                             May 2017 – Present

  • Created a pediatric phantom for measuring dosimetry and reducing secondary radiological exposure in proton radiation therapy.

  • Designed and manufactured high-precision injection mold for pencil-beam proton radiation testing.

  • Created a 3D printed alignment system using MATLAB and SolidWorks to optimize phantom assembly and stability.
